Presented by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, the Pacific Aviation Health Conference brings together aviation medical examiners, operational professionals, regulators, and peer support practitioners for a practical and engaging week focused on aviation safety and wellbeing.
Across the week, delegates will take part in keynote sessions, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops covering aeromedical risk, fitness to fly, and the latest clinical updates in aerospace medicine. A session with a specific focus on peer support and mental health will run concurrently with the main sessions, exploring how organisations can build or strengthen programs that genuinely support their aviation specialists.
More than a conference, this program is designed to strengthen professional networks and encourage collaboration across the region. By bringing together experience from different sectors of aviation, it aims to support safer operations, healthier crews, and a more resilient aviation community throughout the Pacific.

DAME Appointment
For Australian doctors, this course forms the core component of DAME training and is complemented by additional online and self-directed activities required to complete the full DAME curriculum. All DAME candidates must complete a DAME examination to demonstrate competency and become eligible for appointment. Doctors will be able to attend the Brisbane examination this July or another CASA-endorsed face-to-face assessment. Please note that an online examination option is not available.
Flight experience is not mandatory for DAME appointment but is highly recommended. Attendees who wish to undertake this experience will need to arrange it privately.
